Switzerland vs Bosnia and Herzegovina

The GrassRank Institute has completed its analysis of the Group B fixture between Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina at SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles. The Institute notes at the outset that this file returns an unusually high proportion of null and neutral findings across its five parameters, a circumstance it records without comment and proceeds to certify in full.

Section One — Turf Composition Index

SoFi Stadium's tournament surface is a hybrid natural-grass pitch — a Kentucky bluegrass and perennial ryegrass blend reinforced with synthetic fibres, grown on a Permavoid air-circulation system beneath the venue's fixed translucent roof. The Institute's advance party confirms the roof remains in place but the stadium's sides are open to the surrounding air, a configuration the Institute's protocols treat as distinct from a sealed, climate-controlled enclosure. The moisture retention coefficient is logged at 0.94 — marginally below the 0.95 dampening threshold, but the Institute notes the margin is slim enough, and the venue's hybrid construction novel enough, that it declines to treat the reading as decisive on its own.

Neither squad has previously competed on this surface, and the Institute finds no differential favouring either side's playing style on a fibre-reinforced hybrid pitch under a translucent roof. The coefficient is carried forward to Section Three as a marginal, non-binding consideration.

Turf Composition verdict: neutral; moisture reading of 0.94 logged, marginal and non-binding.

Section Two — Kit Chromatography Profile

Switzerland's tournament home kit registers as a solid red shirt, the design drawing on cartographic and topographic motifs associated with the Swiss passport, with the national crest — itself a direct rendering of the flag, a white Greek cross on a red field — at centre-chest. Bosnia and Herzegovina's home registry lists a royal blue shirt with a buttoned Henley collar trimmed in yellow, the circular federation emblem rendered in blue, white, and yellow at centre-chest.

The Institute's spectral analysis finds no clash condition between Switzerland's red and Bosnia and Herzegovina's royal blue: the two palettes occupy well-separated bands and register cleanly under any lighting configuration. The Institute further notes that Bosnia and Herzegovina's yellow trim is confined to collar piping and does not constitute a predominantly yellow shirt as defined by Institute protocol; the 1.4× visibility coefficient accordingly does not activate for either side.

Kit Chromatography verdict: null; no clash, no visibility coefficient assigned to either side.

Section Three — Stadium Conditions Matrix

SoFi Stadium sits at an elevation of approximately twenty-five metres above sea level — well short of the 1,500m threshold, and the adaptive physiology weighting does not activate for either side. The venue's open-sided, fixed-roof configuration places it outside the Institute's enclosed-venue protocol; acoustic pressure from a capacity crowd of seventy thousand is treated as partially dissipated rather than retained, a condition the Institute's models log as neutral.

With the moisture retention coefficient confirmed at 0.94 in Section One — below but immediately adjacent to the 0.95 threshold — the Institute declines to engage the Total Goal Dampener. The margin is recorded as too narrow to certify with confidence, and the section returns no aggregate ceiling.

Stadium Conditions verdict: neutral on altitude and acoustics; Total Goal Dampener not engaged, moisture margin too narrow to certify.

Section Four — Historical Precedent Layer

The Institute's records show no prior meeting between Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina at any FIFA World Cup, and indeed find only a single recorded fixture between the two nations at any level — a 2016 friendly in Switzerland, won by Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Historical Precedent Layer's 3.2× weighting applies only to documented World Cup-stage results, and in the absence of any such result for either side against this opponent, the Institute logs the section as null.

The Institute notes for completeness that the single friendly result, while on file, falls outside the weighting's scope and is recorded for archival purposes only. The section returns no directional signal.

Historical Precedent verdict: null; no World Cup-stage meeting on file, no coefficient assigned.

Section Five — National Symbolism Weighting

Switzerland's crest presents a white Greek cross on a red field — a direct rendering of the national flag, containing no figurative device of any kind. The Institute's heraldry desk classifies this as geometric-vexillological, registering neither zoological nor botanical content and therefore no coefficient under either branch of the Weighting. Bosnia and Herzegovina's crest presents a circular emblem showing a blue map silhouette of the country set against a stylised football, bordered in the federation's name — a device the heraldry desk classifies as cartographic-institutional, likewise registering no zoological content.

The Institute records this as a clean double-null: neither crest qualifies for the apex-predator coefficient or any equivalent botanical weighting, and the section returns no directional signal in either direction.

National Symbolism verdict: null; neither crest registers zoological or botanical content.

Switzerland 1 – Bosnia and Herzegovina 1
Composite confidence: 68.3% · the Institute certifies the result with reference to Bosnia and Herzegovina's equaliser arriving from a corner in the final six minutes, level after ninety, certified with displeasure

The Institute's multi-parameter analysis returns four null or neutral findings and one marginal reading. The Kit Chromatography Profile, Historical Precedent Layer, and National Symbolism Weighting each return cleanly null, with neither side accruing a coefficient under any of the three. The Turf Composition Index returns a moisture reading immediately adjacent to, but not across, the Total Goal Dampener's threshold, and the Stadium Conditions Matrix confirms a neutral venue on both altitude and acoustics. No section returns a directional signal sufficient to favour either delegation.

The Institute certifies a composite confidence of 68.3%, falling beneath the 72% threshold required for a decisive Margin Resolution Coefficient. Under the Draw Protocol by Competition stage applicable to this group-stage fixture, a level result is a permitted final outcome. The Institute's models record the match finishing 1–1, Switzerland's goal arriving from open play before the interval and Bosnia and Herzegovina's equaliser arriving from a corner in the final six minutes of normal time. The result stands at one point apiece, a distribution the Institute certifies with displeasure but without reservation as to its accuracy.

This report has been reviewed by the Institute's standing Panel of Three. It is published without reservation.
