Tunisia vs Netherlands
The GrassRank Institute has completed its analysis of Group F’s concluding fixture at Arrowhead Stadium, a venue whose principal qualification for World Cup hosting duty is having spent six decades hosting a different sport entirely. The Institute notes the irony without comment and proceeds to the data.
Section One — Turf Composition Index
Arrowhead’s NorthBridge Bermudagrass was laid for a sport played in cleats with a ball shaped like neither a sphere nor anything found in nature. The 2025 offseason subsurface aeration and moisture management retrofit brings the surface within FIFA drainage tolerance, and the Institute’s instruments record a moisture retention coefficient of 0.81 — firm, fast, low-skid. Bermudagrass in late June, under Missouri heat, runs dry and quick.
A quick, dry surface rewards the side built to play first-touch, one-and-two-touch combination football through midfield rather than carry the ball into contact. The Institute’s ball-retention modelling favours the side with the established passing architecture, and on bermudagrass cut for speed, that side is the Netherlands.
Turf Composition verdict: Netherlands advantage. The surface rewards tempo, not duels.
Section Two — Kit Chromatography Profile
The Netherlands will wear their historic orange — a wavelength the Institute’s spectral desk has measured at the high end of visible light, falling just outside the yellow band and therefore exempt from the standard 1.4× visibility coefficient. Orange is loud without being penalised for it. The Institute regards this as a quirk of the methodology it has elected, for now, not to revise.
Tunisia’s white home kit returns a neutral chromatic reading against bermudagrass’s summer-dry tan-green: low contrast, minimal camouflage either direction. Neither chromatic advantage nor chromatic liability. The Institute’s spectrometer recorded the result and asked to be excused early.

Section Three — Stadium Conditions Matrix
Arrowhead Stadium sits at 880 feet above sea level — 268 metres, comfortably beneath the Institute’s 1,500-metre threshold for adaptive physiology weighting. No altitude coefficient is issued to either nation. This is, for the Institute’s purposes, a null reading: a rare fixture in which the stadium itself declines to participate.
Capacity is reduced to 73,000 for FIFA’s wider 105-by-68-metre pitch, with corner seating sacrificed to regulation. The Institute’s acoustic modelling, run against a neutral-venue crowd composition, returns no meaningful pressure coefficient for either side. Kansas City, in short, is a quiet laboratory.
Stadium Conditions verdict: no advantage issued. The venue is procedurally neutral.
Section Four — Historical Precedent Layer
Tunisia and the Netherlands have met twice in recorded history, and both encounters returned the identical result: a draw. Neither meeting occurred at World Cup stage, and so neither qualifies for the Institute’s 3.2× head-to-head weighting; both are filed at standard friendly-encounter weight. The signal is consistent but thin — two data points, two draws, and a methodology that declines to extrapolate from thin signal alone.
The Institute notes the precedent and weights it lightly: a level history between unequal sides at World Cup stage is not, on its own, predictive of a level outcome under World Cup pressure.

Section Five — National Symbolism Weighting
Both nations arrive under apex predators. The Netherlands counters with a crowned lion, rampant, orange on shield, a royal animal predating the federation itself and likewise certified at 1.15×.
Two apex-predator coefficients of identical magnitude is a configuration the Institute’s heraldic desk has not previously been asked to resolve. The eagle and the lion do not, in nature, compete for the same prey; the Institute’s symbolism protocol has no tiebreak clause for predators occupying different ecological registers entirely. The coefficients are certified as cancelling.
National Symbolism verdict: eagle and lion certified at parity, 1.15 each. The variable returns no net direction.
Three of the Institute’s five parameters returned null or near-null findings in this fixture — a rate of methodological silence the Institute has not previously recorded. Where the heraldic desk found parity and the stadium found nothing at all, the result rests on turf and kit alone: thin instruments, but instruments nonetheless.
The Institute does not regard a one-goal margin built on two parameters as decisive in the way Section One or Section Three findings have been decisive elsewhere. It regards it as sufficient. Sufficient has been certified before.
